An Internet Thug, cyber gangsta, cyberthug or simply E-Thug in Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial or makes controversial statements in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum or group with the intention of bashing others or inciting violence. Internet thugs are "One who uses the internet as a front for acting like a tough guy gang member, usually because they are hoping to gain the respect that they lack in their real life."
