In 2007 team QLD took out the cup in a sudden death playoff lasting only one hole. All members of each team played and the best aggregate average won. There is some contention with this as team QLD only fielded 2 players for the tournament. Officials are looking into making mandatory 3 person teams in future with a view in having foursomes competing from each tri-state as the norm. This is the second time in as many years that team QLD have applied this tactic and those more traditional with the history of the ITSWSG feel it is unsportsmanlike and should be banned through the ITSWSG constitution.
