Australian Gridiron League

The Australian Gridiron League is the Australian competition run by Gridiron Australia and contested by teams representing states of Australia. The inaugural season was in 2012, and was contested by teams representing New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. The other two member jurisdictions of Gridiron Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia did not field a team in the inaugural season.
The 2012 championship was won by Western Australia.
Tournament format
The 2012 championship comprised a single round-robin series, with each team playing the other three teams once. The final placings and the championship were decided on the basis of games won and points scored during the round-robin series.
