Introduction The International Chandramauli Charitable Trust is a non-profit trust working to provide better education & living standards to children. Located in Varanasi, India, the trust provides children education along with proper accommodation including facility for meals. More than 200 children are registered with the trust at present and more children registrations are expected in coming years. Mission International Chandramauli Charitable Trust runs under the mission of educating maximum number of children in core traditional values, elementary subjects besides providing learning on various other subjects of interest like arts, crafts etc., for ensuring overall development. The Chandramauli Charitable Trust works for the following essential rights of all children * Right to education * Right to improved living * Right to better life & future The Trust works on the conventional residential education philosophy that requires children to stay in the provided accommodation and get the necessary learning. Financial Aids Major portion of the trust’s finances is accumulated via donation from corporates. Leading business organizations in India and across the globe make significant contributions to the trust from time to time. The IT outsourcing firm SynapseIndia and its founder Shamit Khemka has been a constant and one of the major contributors to the Chandramauli Charitable Trust since a long time. Besides corporates, the trust receives donation from governmental organizations and other non-profit organizations too. Tara Twyman, from Uckfield in East Sussex, is aiming to raise £5,000 for the International Chandramauli Trust. Core Activities The trust is working actively on making children well-aware of the traditional values, vedic literature and Rishis-ascetics. They also run "after school" classes for students of all ages, starting from pre-school to post graduation. Children registered with the trust get free teaching on a number of subjects including English, Sanskrit, Computer Science, Accountancy, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, History, Social Science, and Business Studies. The Trust also runs a computer training center where children get to learn basic web designing techniques and other computer fundamentals using Cambridge University Press ICT skills course books that make teaching much easier. Experienced teachers at the trust train children on the basic subjects and computer fundamentals besides giving them lessons on art & craft and music. Children practice classical Sangeet and learn to play musical instruments like guitar, harmonium etc., during the music classes held on Sunday. At Chandramauli, children also get to learn "Sat Svar Vedas" along with "Panini's Vyakaran" and Saahitya, Darshan, Translation as well as Spoken Sanskrit. A Nursery, Lower kindergarten as well as Upper kindergarten is provided for all young children who are unable to attend school. The children are also provided hot meals on a daily basis that effectively serves as their prime source of nutrition. Besides meals; uniforms, books and stationary are also provided as per need.
