Interior Design Protection Council

The Interior Design Protection Council (IDPC) is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to protect the rights and livelihoods of interior designers and the interior design community by opposing interior design regulation.
Organization
IDPC was founded in 2008 by executive director, Patti Morrow.
The organization itself consists of the IDPC board of directors, members, student members, sponsors, affiliates, and industry partners.
Through a grassroots network across the United States, IDPC has established a “voice” for the design community to oppose interior design regulations which interfere with their ability to work, or with their First Amendment right to truthfully market their services. 28 National Organizations support IDPC's mission.
History and Mission
The Interior Design Protection Council is a national, non-partisan interior design business league working to protect the rights of interior designers to practice; to actively influence legislation germane to protecting the livelihood of our members, to provide mechanisms for and/or encourage interior designers, interior decorators, and others involved with, ancillary to, interested in or affected by the interior design industry, to organize and participate in the political processes affecting their livelihoods and the interior design industry generally. We accomplish this through the presentation of information and trade statistics as well as education and communicating group opinions to government officials, agencies and bureaus, the design community, consumers, and the media.
