Infinito 2017

Marcellous Lovelace (born October 26, 1975), well known by the name Infinito 2017, is an African American rapper. Lovelace is known for his creative ability and multiple styles as both a visual artist and performance artist. Infinito 2017 first gained recognition as a member of the legendary Memphis and Chicago based Unorthodox Poets Society hip hop crew. Infinito 2017 is also known for recording many albums in a short period of time.

History
Infinito 2017 was born on the South side of Chicago, Illinois]] to military parents from Arkansas. Infinito 2017 got his start in making music with through b-boying with his cousin Derrick "Fatnice" Jackson in Harvey, Illinois. His cousin taught him elements of hip hop, such as breaking, graffiti, DJing and emceeing. Emceeing stuck with Marcellous the most because of its endless possibilities. In the summer of 1989, Infinito 2017 (then known as MCML Master of Ceremony Marcellous Lovelace) and another one of his cousins, Dashon "Dariel D" Franklin, decided to record an album of their freestyle rhymes and from that, the two cousins established LDP (Lamont and Dariels Posse). The two cousins would make several recordings using an old boom box radio and the speaker of another radio as the microphone. Marcellous would use this method for the next four years until his mother bought a karaoke machine for Christmas one year. This would give Marcellous more ways to create sound and he recorded over 100 tapes of just freestyle rhymes, either a capella or over other beats.

By 1991, Marcellous lived in Fort Knox Kentucky because his mother was transferred there as a recruiter. This period was very hard on Marcellous due to the fact he was not around the south side of Chicago black soul that he loved. Due to drama at his mother's home in Fort Knox, KY, Marcellous was forced to live in South Memphis. In Memphis, Marcellous stayed with his grandmother, who helped him continue his high school studies at Hamilton High School where he graduated. That year, in 1994, Dashon "Dariel D" Fronaklin passed away, leaving the group a solo act. After more home recordings and freestyles Marcellous made his debut performance in Chicago at the Taste of Chicago, according to interviews and his book. This experience made Marcellous more comfortable to be in the public eye. The same year he was able to buy vinyl records and a mixer. In 1996, Marcellous met Mr. Skurge and officially started his second group, Unorthodox Poets Society. From this meeting, Mr. Skurge gave Marcellous the name Infinito due to the fact he wouldn't stop rhyming. The numbers "2017" in his name were created while Infinito lived in Atlanta in 1999, and stand for the completion of goals as well as the 19th galaxy from Nuwaubian studies.

Based on facts from Memphis Underground Hip Hop scene when Mr Skurge was out at club fantasia on night In the fall of 1996, Mr. Skurge met Marcellous while he was freestyling at Club Fantasia in Memphis, Tenessee, and asked him and some other emcees that were at the club that night to come to his studio and start recording tracks with him. The duo formed the Unorthodox Poets Society after a failed attempt at starting a poetry group at the University of Memphis.
