Indian Mexican

Indian Mexicans () are Mexicans with ancestry from India. This term is not to confuse the Mexicans of Native American descent.
The first Indians to enter Mexico were refugees affected by religious wars between Muslims and Hindus in the late 19th century. Many Indians were absorbed into Mexican society as they look like native-born Mexicans of Native American or mixed Native American and Spanish descent and of Gypsy-Spanish descent. Many Indians entered Mexico as husbands of returning Mexican American women they married from United States and their children since only a handful of Indian men returned to India with their wives. Another wave of Indians migrated voluntarily to Mexico as businesspeople and these people are a visible minority but adopting Mexican culture. Most of Indian Mexicans live in cities, especially Mexico City and coastal cities like Acapulco, Veracruz, and Baja California cities like Mexicali and Tijuana.
Most Indians speak Spanish while others keep speaking in Hindi, Punjabi, and other languages of India. Indians are the only foreigners in Mexico who have ability to speak English with their native languages and there are Indian schools in Mexico with English as medium of instruction.
Many Indians are Hindus or Muslims, with some Buddhists and Christians.
