ImperialCoin is a Cryptocurrency based on Bitcoin's SHA256 algorithm. It was released March 1, 2014. The release was a success, as it got much attention. Unfortunately, it didn't look good for the future of the coin. There is another "Imperial Coin" altcoin, released before IMP. In June, 2014, IMP's only exchange, CryptoALTeX closed down, leaving it with nowhere to buy or sell them. Technical Specifications * ImperialCoin is based on Bitcoin's SHA256d algorithm. * 1,024,000,000 coins are to be minted. * The block reward halves every 102,400 blocks. * The difficulty is unique, in that it goes down more than up. This allows computers that once mined Bitcoin to now profitably mine ImperialCoin. Creator The creator of ImperialCoin goes by the alias "goosoodude" or also "goo." He states he is only 14 years old. He developed his coin by himself, not requiring any help. 1 month after the coin went public, the creator uploaded a video to his YouTube channel, MrGoosoodude. The video was titled "OFFICIAL ImperialCoin Promo." This is the first time he publicly announced the coin on the channel. Naming Confusion When the coin was created, goosoodude had not known about another "Imperial Coin" going by the same name. Instead of IMP, it was IPC. This conflict was resolved soon after IPC's creator had decided to work something out. Not much was ever done to either coin, though.
