The IBS Treatment Center is a medical clinic in Seattle, Washington, USA specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of the conditions that cause Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)and IBS symptoms. History Dr. Stephen Wangen was diagnosed with IBS during the 1990s. His extensive review of the available published medical research revealed that there are hundreds of different conditions that can cause IBS. After ending his own IBS, he developed protocols and worked with laboratories to establish a process for identifying the cause or causes of IBS in his patients. As a result, he determined to establish the first clinic in the nation to focus solely on successfully addressing this debilitating condition. The IBS Treatment Center was founded in 2005 by Dr. Stephen Wangen and a business partner and is located in the Nordstrom Medical Tower at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Patients have included people from over 30 states, more than 3 Canadian provinces, and countries as distant as Thailand and New Zealand. Innate Health Group The IBS Treatment Center is part of the Innate Health Group. The Innate Health Group is an affiliation of organizations including medical clinics, a non-profit public interest charity, and a publishing company. The non-profit member of the group, Innate Health Foundation, supports the IBS and food allergy/intolerance affected communities through research, patient grants, and information. Dr. Wangen is a co-founder and serves as the Research Director of the Innate Health Foundation.
