Ian Gac

Ian Whitney Gac (born August 10, 1985 Seattle, Washington) is an American professional baseball infielder. Gac attended Edmonds Woodway High School in Edmonds, Washington before he was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft. He bats and throws right-handed, and primarily plays first base. Over his career, he has played in the Texas Rangers organization (2003-2009) and the Chicago White Sox organization (2010-2011).
Professional career
Gac was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 26 round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft out of Edmonds Woodway High School. During the 2003 season, Gac played for the rookie-level AZL Rangers in the Arizona League and batted .242 with 22 runs, 44 hits, eight doubles, three home runs, 19 runs batted in (RBIs) in 46 games. In 2004, Gac continued playing with the AZL Rangers. He batted 19 runs, 36 hits, eight doubles, one triple, five home runs and 51 RBIs in 40 games. Gac was promoted to the Clinton Lumber Kings of the Midwest League in 2005. With the Lumber Kings, Gac batted .240 with 42 runs, 83 hits, 24 doubles, three triples, 12 home runs and 57 RBIs in 91 games. In 2006, Gac split the season between the Class-A Clinton Lumber Kings and the Class-A Advanced Bakersfield Blaze. With Clinton, he batted .197 with 21 runs, 41 hits, eight doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 26 RBIs in 54 games.
In 2011, while playing for the Winston-Salem Dash as a designated hitter, Gac was honored as the Carolina League's Most Valuable Player.
Gac signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves on November 22, 2011.
