Ian A. Vaughan

Election 2009 Reform BC Candidate for Maple Ridge-Mission, Ian A. Vaughan was born in Mission, and has lived in Maple Ridge for four years, in the lower mainland since 1990. Ian is a commercial vehicle safety inspector and fleet maintenance professional for Coastal Truck & Equipment Ltd. in Port Coquitlam. His years of experience in the logging, mining, commercial fisheries and transportation industries gives him a good knowledge base to draw on. He grew up on the Sunshine Coast, in Egmont, B.C.
Ian was active in local politics, including serving two terms in local office as the Regional Director for Area “A” of the Sunshine Coast Regional District. During his terms he variously headed committees that included Finance, Planning, Public Works and Parks and Recreation. He also served terms as the SCRD’s appointee to Social Services, The Saint Mary’s Hospital Board and as local head of the Provincial Emergency Program Emergency Operations Committee. During this time Ian helped create the first computerized Emergency Response Plan in Canada.
Ian's Support of the Reform Party began in 1991.
