Horx

Nick Halkes, also known as Horx, is a DJ, record producer and music industry executive.
Early work
Having launched XL Recordings, he most notably signed The Prodigy, releasing their first 12” in 1991 and their debut album Experience which went on to achieve Gold certification on release. Teaming up with work mate Richard Russell under the name Kicks Like a Mule (K.L.A.M.), they produced "The Bouncer" which saw considerable success reaching the top 10 in the national charts. Moving from XL to EMI to launch Positiva, Halkes signed Reel 2 Real and to the new label, with both gaining worldwide success.
Horx dovetailed XL and then Positiva commitments with a variety of DJ bookings in that era playing in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv and Toronto amongst other major cities. In 2006, the Klaxons released a cover of "The Bouncer" which K.L.A.M. responded to with a cover of "" which led to them gaining a peak time DJ set at Bestival.
Later work
After meeting up with Liam Howlett and the rest of The Prodigy at a Brixton Academy gig, Halkes was invited to A & R their fifth studio album, Invaders Must Die.
Horx was the support DJ for The Prodigy on their Academy Invaders and Invaders Arena tours which helped land Invaders Must Die (of which Horx co-wrote one of the tracks) a number 1 spot in the UK album charts and reach the top 5 throughout most of the world. K.L.A.M. went on to remix "Warrior's Dance" and then for Major Lazer and Kid Sister whilst Horx collaborated with Adam F for a remix of "Take Me to the Hospital". Horx arena tour dates with The Prodigy included Helsinki, Oslo, Copenhagen and Prague; whilst in the UK, he provided support at Wembley, M.E.N. Arena, Brighton Arena and Cardiff International Arena as Invaders Must Die went on to sell more than 1.2 million copies.
Recent collaborations
Horx has since collaborated with Adam F and Redman to release "Shut the Lights Off!" on Breakbeat Kaos, which gained impressive support (including 'Hottest Record in the World' from Zane Lowe). K.L.A.M have played in Fabric and their single "Funky 4" was released on .
Horx teamed up with Dave Spoon to produce Wiley's single "Electric Boogaloo", another track which gained radio support from DJs such as Annie Mac, MistaJam, Annie Nightingale, Pete Tong and Rob da Bank.
Horx then teamed up with P3000 to produce "The One" which Benga played as his last track at Ultra Miami and Webster Hall, New York. In 2012, the pair then decided to get in the studio with DJ Fresh's live vocalist Fleur to make a vocal version, which was released on 360 Records. Horx and P3000 were also approached to remix Drumsound & Bassline Smith's "Through the Night".
Horx teamed up with Shadow Child and TK Wonder on "Bordertown", a track picked up by Apollo Records.
