Hom Nguyen

Hom Nguyen is a self-taught, French-born artist of Vietnamese heritage. He often works in large-format portraiture. His work has been featured in solo and collective exhibitions since 2011.
Biography
In 2011 he collaborated with the designer Ora-Ito.
In 2016, Nguyen collaborated with the luxury trunk maker Pinel & Pinel to present the series "Sans Repères" in the Yoyo Space of the Palais de Tokyo.
In 2019 he exhibited at Galerie Adler in Bangkok.
In 2019, he exhibited at the Monnaie de Paris Museum as part of the exhibition "Artistes à la Une, Togeth’her". The same year, he created a large exterior portrait of Edit Piaf at the L’hôpital Tenon AP-HP in Paris.
During that same time, he put on an exhibition titled Portraits of Legionnaires for the 2nd foreign regiment of paratroopers at the Camp Raffalli in Corsica. This encounter leaves a profound mark on the artist. The French Foreign Legion’s values, its traditions and its attachment to France, which are born from its personal stories, resonate with the artist’s origins. Colonel Christophe Passerat de la Chapelle would later say “Hom Nguyen has this legionnaire soul”
In 2020, the artist made a record auction for an amount of €224,000 in favor of the NGO the Children of the Mekong.
In 2021 he created the portrait of French priest Abbé Pierre as a gift to the Abbe Pierre foundation. This portrait is a tribute to the famous speech of the 1954 winter.
