Hiruy Amanuel

Hiruy Amanuel is an Ethiopian investor residing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Originally born and raised in The Bay Area, Ca., Hiruy has now shifted his focus towards the rapidly growing technology sector within the Horn of Africa; namely Kenya and Ethiopia.
Prior to moving to Ethiopia, Hiruy used to work as a Mechanical Engineer(maritime) on the islands of Guam and Hawaii. While licensed through the USCG, Hiruy sailed to well over 70 countries working on a variety of steam propelled vessels. Shortly after moving back to California, Hiruy assumed title of "Director Of Operations" at Pony Tracks Ranch in Portola Valley, Ca. While directing strategic operations and security for Pony Tracks Ranch, Hiruy also helped manage and facilitate directives in partnership with the "Military Vehicle Technology Foundation" (www.mvtf.org)
"AJ Ventures," the first investment firm Hiruy founded back in 2013 is still operating under the directorship of its board of directors, while Hiruy has moved to Ethiopia to explore other entrepreneurial ventures. In his spare time, Hiruy enjoys traveling and cooking. He is also an avid dog lover with a focus on competing and training in PSA working dog clubs.
