Theology and practice
Gifts and passions
The theology and practice of Hillcrest MC reflects a mission to encourage participants to express their faith through particular gifts and passions. This approach was an intentional attempt to move away from ministry based on rigid structures and committees. This shift has resulted in more ad hoc church expressions which flow from the identity and resources of the congregation.
Intergenerational
Another distinctive characteristic of Hillcrest MC is its desire to see all ages more integrated in the life of the church. This has resulted in a move away from events and ministries segregated by age to fuller "family" experiences.
Peace and justice
Hillcrest MC continues to maintain the importance of peace churches and how they engage in issues of peace and social justice.
