Aaron Poisson

Aaron Poisson is an American criminal who gained national attention for killing Roger Kreutz while stealing a tip jar from a coffeehouse. Poisson was a 19 year old man from Cumming, Georgia, when he went up to Greater St. Louis with his then-girlfriend to search for employment in March of 2008. He made a stop at a suburban Starbucks, and decided to steal a tip jar containing about 5. His flight was pursued by 54-year old Kreutz, a customer and a businessman from Creve Coeur, Missouri. Kruetz was struck by Poisson's car door, and died of his injuries two days later. In February of 2009, Poisson pleaded guilty to the involuntary manslaughter. The following month he was sentenced to a year in prison. |
