Hidayat hussain

Syed Hidayat Hussain- CSP (1933-2010) was an educationalist, a civil servant and a jurist. His paper "Due Process in Shariah" is available in the US Congress Library.
He was born in Manora, a small village in MP India. He completed his masters in physics from Allahabad University.
In the year 1954, on the advice of one of his teachers Molvi Ibrahim, he left India for Pakistan.
Hidayat Hussain joined the Peshawar University and pioneered the opening of Physics department there.
In the year 1958, Hidayat Hussain joined the prestigious Civil Service of Pakistan. He chose Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Physics, so far considered the most challenging combination for the competitive examination.
Starting his carrier as Assistant Commissioner, he served as, Assistant Political Agents, District Commissioner etc. Later he was transferred to the judiciary. He became the District Judge at the age of 33 years. He served in this capacity for Hyderabad and Karachi district. His elevation was recommended to the High Court of Sindh being the only confirmed District Judge in the province when he was only 38 years old. He was appointed as the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the year 1973 (40 years). Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health, Govt. of Pakistan (1977-78).
Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law, Govt. of Pakistan (1978-83).
Director, Institute of Training in Shariah for Judges, International Islamic University (1983-84).
Joint Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Govt. of Pakistan (1984-88).
Joint Secretary/Assistant Administrator General Zakat, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of Pakistan (1988-93).
Chairman, Banking Tribunal for Hyderabad, Larkana and Karachi (1993-94)
His contract for service was terminated on deciding a case against the front-man for the spouse of the Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
Among his other land mark achievements were:
- Formulation of Banking Tribunal Act.
- The introduction of the Concept of Mohtasib (Ombudsmans) in Pakistan
- The Shariat Bill 1988
He taught Law, Shariah and Physics at Post Master Level.
