Heart of War is an American heavy metal band from Nazareth, Pennsylvania that was formed in 2006 by cousins Konrad and Dan Dennis. Heart of War is noted for having opened for national touring acts such as God Forbid, Death Angel, Light This City, Soilent Green, Wednesday 13 and Raven. Heart of War is also comprised of teenagers. Heart of War is currently seeking a new guitarist and bassist and plan on recording and releasing their debut EP in late 2009-early 2010 Biography Heart of War formed in the summer of 2006 as Konrad Dennis (Guitars), Dan Dennis (Drums), Jutt Bylina (Bass), Dave Morrow (Guitars) and Christian Cintron (Vocals). Heart of War was a very young band at the time with the youngest member being Dan at age 12 and the oldest being Christian at age 16. At first, Heart of War was supposed to be based in Konrad and Christian's hometown of Alpha, New Jersey, but were instead based in Dan's hometown of Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Heart of War's influences include many classic and new-age heavy metal bands such as Pantera, Metallica, Lamb of God, Bullet for my Valentine, Dope, Black Label Society, Children of Bodom and many others. Heart of War began practicing at Dan's dad's house in September 2006 and Christian was kicked out of the band nearly a month later for never showing up to practice. According to Heart of War, Christian was never really a member of the band, he was just considered to be. Later, in April 2007, the job of lead vocalist was pushed onto Konrad by fellow bandmates. Following in the footsteps of the likes of James Hetfield and Matt Heafy, Konrad didn't want to be the singer at first. In the following months, Jutt and Dan decided to act as backing vocalists. Heart of War began to play shows in July 2007. Heart of War began building tension between each other only two shows in their career and had a short break-up in early August 2007. This break-up only lasted about a week. After a year passed, Dave was kicked out of the band in July 2008 for his family issues getting in the way of the band. He was brought back only a month later. In January 2009, Dave decided to quit due to musical differences. Jutt followed soon after, to join the alternative rock band from Hackettstown, New Jersey, Reverse Order. Heart of War currently seeks a new guitarist and bassist. EP Heart of War in October 2008 that they would begin recording their yet-to-be-titled debut EP in the coming months. Their loss of members Dave and Jutt has slowed them down, and they plan to begin recording soon after they get a new guitarist and bassist. Although there is no official tracklist, Heart of War has stated that the songs "Every Single Second", "Krooked Star", "BullShit" and "Retaliation" are to be included on the EP. Views on Drugs Heart of War are against the use of drugs including alcohol, tobacco and marijuana. Dan Dennis is quoted for the reasoning behind this: "Aside of the fact that we think it is a waste of time in a person's life, we want to show people that you can still be a badass musician and be incredibly creative without the use of drugs." Genre Heart of War is known for their punchy yet experimental style of heavy metal. Incorporating the likes of groove and blues into their music. The band has been labeled as groove metal, thrash metal, progressive metal and even hard rock. Heart of War prefers to simply be called a metal band.
