Amorth (band) Amorth is a British four piece Heavy Metal Band from the West Midlands. The band formed in 2003 with members Oli Hunt, Jonny Webster, Will Harris, James Harris and Luke Pierce. The line up has altered over the years with various changes. Original singer Luke Pierce left the band so James Harris started taking up vocals, then after a year or so, he handed the reigns down to Jonny and Oli, Jonny performing the more melodic/harmonic singing, and Oli producing the Roaring/Screaming. Instrument wise, the bands only changes have been guitarists. Starting when James had to leave due to University commitments. The position changed a further two times starting with Phil Cook and then Chris Mueller. The album 'Await Me Now' released with MSK Records features Mueller on rhythm and lead guitars. After a mutual agreement, Mueller left the band in May 2010, after musical differences being replaced by Dan Yates. The current line up is Oli Hunt (Vocals and Guitars), Jonny Webster (Vocals and Bass), Will Harris (Drums) and Dan Yates (Guitars). History Amorth formed as Tempting Tear, when they decided to play at a Battle of The Bands at their secondary/high school Kings Worcester. After the concert they decided to change to Tempting Fate as they thought it made more sense as a name. At that time, they were playing mostly covers of rock and metal bands such as Gun's n' Roses and Metallica. The name the progressed to Impure Thoughts, after Will and Oli attended a Rock School hosted by Mike Hurst (Founder of Cat Stevens). The name was shouted out by someone when people began looking for ghosts and trying to devise satanic ways for the ghosts to have died. After a few years, as the musical side of the band was getting heavier, they thought that the name needed to as well. Trawling through the internet they eventually found the Senior Exorcist to the Vatican City; Gabriel Amorth. Hence forth, they became Amorth. Await Me Now Await Me Now is the first album release from Amorth under MSK Records. Among old and new material from the band, the album features some of the bands best known titles such as: 'Await Me Now', 'Closer To The End' and 'The Consummation'. The album has no overall theme, but it shows a change in the bands' writing style. The album was receive with good praise, with reviews from Kerrang and Music-Cultcha. Kerrang giving 3k's which was on par with the latest Mudvayne release, and beating Anthrax's new live album. The review from music-Cultcha view 'Await Me Now' as one of the 'best metal albums they had heard in years'.
