Heart Break Kid

Rich "Richy Rich" Ashcroft, professionally known as The Heart Break Kid is a Reggaeton producer of Puerto Rican descent. Born and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico, The Heart Break Kid hails from a musical background, as his father - Felix Sr, pertained to legendary Salsa Icons - Fania All Stars - which consisted of an all star line up including Hector Lavoe and Tito Puente. His brother Felix Jr gained moderate success in the realm of Reggaeton as well not only as a producer but also as a DJ, having served as the official DJ for Guatauba Productions, which at the time of his involvement consisted of Super Stars - Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Angel y Khriz, John Erick & Rubio y Joel. Incidentally after leaving Puerto Rico and moving to New York, the family found themselves next door neighbors to world renown DJ - Tony Touch who was instrumental in getting the brothers into the at then growing genre known as Reggaeton.

During his brothers 6 year working endeavors with Guatauba Productions, The Heart Break Kid who as a High School student at the time formed a strong relationship with Angel y Khriz who were the younger artists of the label and also around the same age range as he. A younger brother and older brother relationship developed between he and Daddy Yankee which ultimately lead The Heart Break Kid to break into the music industry.

Starting off as a promotional rep alongside Gocho (who would later go onto to become one of Puerto Rico's most accomplished producers, having produced for Daddy Yankee, Angel y Khriz and the CD MVP which contained Don Omar's hit - Dale), he has quickly developed into one of Reggaeton's most prolific and sought after producers, having worked with the likes of Luny Tunes, Noriega, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Angel y Khriz, Jowell y Randy, Magnate, Rakim y Ken-Y, Tito El Bambino, Yaga y Mackie, Manny Manuel, John Erick, Las Guanabanas, Don Chezina, Jewelz Lopez, Johnny Prez, Hector El Father, Zion y Lennox and a slew of other musical acts.
