Hazel Bowyer

Hazel Phyllis Bowyer (born 1946) is a former Broadland District Council chairman and former business director, in Norwich, United Kingdom.
Political career
Bowyer, the Lady Chairman, was elected council chairman in 1993 and remained in this position until 1995, having previously been deputy chairman under Leslie Woolf. She was a candidate for Sprowston central ward, from 1988 to 1996, winning the vote in the local election years of 1988 and 1992 respectively, with majorities of up to 700 per cent at times.
Community Work
While representative for Sprowston Central Ward, Bowyer promoted the opening of the Sprowston Sports Hall and Swimming Pool, the Sprowston Sports pavilion, the Cottage Plantation (a local wildlife trail and parkland) and a housing project at Clover Court, Sprowston. Public engagements as Chairman were numerous, including the opening of the new Boulton and Paul headquarters in Pinetrees Road, Norwich in 1994.
Role as business director
Bowyer moved to Norwich from London in 1974 with her husband Peter Bowyer, to set up the Dyno-Rod franchise P Bowyer Associates Ltd. (Dyno-Rod East Anglia). Role of director was shared between them until sufficient growth of the company lead to local political engagements. The company is known for their drainage work on domestic and industrial sites, including listed properties throughout the south-east of England.
One of the oldest franchises in the country, P Bowyer Associates was awarded a Royal Warrant by Her Majesty the Queen in 2006, having provided service to the British royal household since 1976.
The company is now directed by her eldest son Daniel Bowyer.
