Hassan Ganey

Hassan Abdillahi Hagi Hassan known as Hassan Ganey in Somali "xasan ganey" is one of the greatest poets and songwriters in Somalia. Born in Bulahar of the Sahil region, in 1967 he joined the Artistic Group of the Somali Armed Forces. Hassan's poetic talents, like many of his contemporaries, were revealed in his teenage years. he has two sons Guled and Abdillahi. Hassan has composed many well known plays, among the most famous are:-
· Masiibadu Aduunyada iyadaa u Macalin ah
· Dhaqankeena iyo Dhalinta Casriga
· Dumistii Aqalkayga iyo Arooskii Inankayga
· Galbeed waa la xoreeye Waarsaa Gaagixisay
· Bidaari Sibiq bay kugu Gashaa
· Doojiya
He has also composed some of the best liked song and poems, sung by the most prominent Somali singers:-
