Hasan Masurica

Mulla Hasan Masurica (1869-1942) was an Albanian imam and inventor. Life Hasan Masurica was born in Frileva. He finished elementary education in Gjilan and secondary education in Skopje. He had knoweledge of Turkish, Arabic and Persian languages which enabled him to study the Islamic Literature. He was an imam in a mosque in Koretin. In 1899 he worked on and constructed a balloon which flew 50-70 metres in the air. He also projected a type of gun which was emptied and loaded several times. Hasan was a very intelligent man who was interested in fields such as physics, astronomy and maths. In 1905 he fought against Serb forces and in 1916 against Bulgarian forces who set his house on fire. From 1914 to 1925, Mulla Hasan Masurica made a calendar, in which he determined the position and path of the planets in the universe from 52 to the end of 1952 AD, and so on. |
