Harvest Faire

Harvest Faire is a one-weekend renaissance faire held the second weekend in October in Newport News, Virginia since 1994. It includes a mix of period, Celtic and contemporary music, middle-eastern dance, medieval re-enactment encampments and combat, a corrupt sheriff, merchants and food. It also includes many aspects of its orginal creation as a collaborative fall celebration for several pagan groups . Those include a nightly drum circle and openness to a wide range of religious viewpoints. The event is now produced by Harvest Faire, a non-religious 501c3 non-profit, as a charitable fund-raiser whose net proceeds are passed to a selected charity each year .
