Harold Fentener van Vlissingen (born 17 December 1968) is a Dutch entrepreneur. Amongst his other business interests, he is currently the owner and Chairman of Diamond Tools Group. Early life and education Harold is part of the Fentener van Vlissigen family, one of the oldest Dutch industrialist families. He has 3 sisters, Annemiek, Cisca and Marthe Fentener Van Vlissingen. Harold Fentener van Vlissingen attended Het Gemeentelijk Gymnasium in Hilversum in 1981 and completed a degree in Public Administration at the Universities of Leiden (Leiden University) and Rotterdam in 1994. Early career Following military service as an Officer in the Royal Netherlands Army, he worked as an Assistant to the Chief Executive of the Local Government Commission in the British civil service. He then continued his career in different functions at Philips Electronics (1994 - 1996) and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (1996 - 2000). In 2000 he started up the internet specialist company Kowin E-commerce (and founded Kortingswinkel.nl & Kortingsbon.nl). In 2005 Harold Fentener moved to Shanghai (China) for Kowin. Among others he was vice chairman of the Chamber of Commerce to strengthen the relationship between the Benelux and China. He left China in 2010 after selling Kowin to TNT Post. Current ventures In 2005 he engaged in the development of the tool maker Diamond Tools Group, world leader in the development and manufacturing of diamond tools for various industries. He has been Chairman of the Board since 2005. Apart from his diamond tools business, Harold is an active investor via the investment fund Forest Manor NV. This focuses on investing in international companies with solid long-term perspective. Forest Manor operates based on the investment philosophy of British-born American economist and professional investor Benjamin Graham, the father of the value investing approach. Boards and Honors Between 2006 and 2011 Harold was a member of the Supervisory Board of the listed cable manufacturer Draka Holding as well as a member of the strategy and audit committee.
