Hardy Bucks

The Hardy Bucks is a cult web-based sit-com based on life in small-town Ireland. The series follows the lives of Eddie and Buzz, two twenty-somethings from Castletown, a fictional town set in Co. Mayo, Ireland. The series has been shortlisted for and subsequently became a finalist on RTÉ's Storyland competition. British TV stations have also been reported as having expressed an interest in the series.
The series is shot in the mockumentary style of Trailer Park Boys, which the writers are fans of, although they also cite Father Ted as being an influence.
Production
The series is produced by a group of film makers based in Swinford, Ireland and is written by Chris Tordoff and Martin Maloney. Tordoff and Maloney moved to Swinford when they were 11 and 12 from Leeds and Liverpool in the UK. They cite this outside perspective as helping them in writing the series. Tordoff directs while Martin plays the lead role of Eddie (despite having a Scouse accent in real life). Tordoff is a media student at Ballyfermot College and the series was made with crew and equipment borrowed from the college.
The series is shot on location in Swinford.

List Of Hardy Bucks Episodes
The Demos - Includes introduction to Eddie, Buzz, Salmon and the Viper. (2007)
Episode One (Pilot) - Eddie contemplates leaving Castletown for Galway. Both he and Buzz visit the library and return to find The Boogenhagen, who they've never met before, in the porch of their cottage. In an effort to show the boys how to fight, The Boo plays a "King of the Cage" video. Eddie gets wasted even though he has a Safe Pass training class the next morning. (Summer 2008)
Episode Two - Eddie wakes up hungover to find Buzz has left, possibly for good, to attend a spiritual workshop at the library in an effort to make new friends. Eddie arrives at his Safe Pass class two hours late and trouble arrises when the Viper shows up unexpectedly. After offending the others at the meeting, Buzz goes to the pub with Ladybird where he happens to encounters Eddie. Eddie and Buzz hug and make up. (Summer 2008)
Episode Three - Eddie, Buzz and the Boogenhagen pretend to be interested in golf to trick French Toast into letting them play under his membership at the golf club, only for Frenchie to realise the Boo has been picking mushrooms. It transpires that The Viper and his crew had a similar idea and both him and Eddie "go toe to toe" to sort it out in the Ball Alley. The lads throw a "chats" party later that night only to be arrested by the Guards and punished with community service. (Summer 2008)
Episode Four - The first RTÈ Storyland episode and thus the first episode which was funded. Titled the "Mitzi Turbo Cup" the lads win a prize of 250 pounds "in the claw" at a underground boy racers event. (March 16 2009)
Episode Five - The second RTÈ Storyland episode was called "Foamy Nites". The lads get sacked from working on a building site and seek the Boogenhagen's advice who suggests they throw a foam party and charge an admission fee. All goes to plan only for the lads get too stoned "Off our trolleys!" and have the Viper snatches the money. (April 27 2009)
Episode Six - The third RTÈ Storyland episode is called "Speedy Nites". Having tried and failed to attract women using their wit alone, the lads go along to a Speed Dating night in the hope of meeting some gamey, slightly desperate girls. Despite having studied ‘The Game’ - a how-to guide about picking up women - both Eddie and Boo struggle, while French Toast manages to turn on the charm. Buzz comes face to face with his ex Ladybird, who has been spotted around the town ‘prising herself’ on the Viper. Things take a turn for the worse when the snaky miscreant shows up with his henchman ‘The Dragon.’ (June 5 2009)
Episode Seven - (July 2009)
Episode Eight - (August 2009)
