Hard to Be Human

Hard to be Human is the second full length album by American Rock band Save Our Souls. It consists out of 12 tracks on the CD and two bonus tracks at their digital release. It was produced by Mike Watts who worked together with As Tall as Lions. Hard to be Human reached marked at April 9th, 2009. The album was released on their old band name CHIBA-KEN. It is the last album under that band name because the band changed it into Save Our Souls in January 2010. Gotham Records and the band split up short time before release party in March 2009 so the band had to finish producing album on themselves.
Songs
Hard to Be Human
The most songs handels about the sadder side of love, social critics about the american society and critics about the war. The same-named song Hard to be Human shows examples for the missunderstanding problems in the society. It shows side sadder side of love too because the protagonist asked if he is good enough for her after he thought of killing himself.
The War
The War, a bonus track shows the listener the truth of the war.
Singer George William shows his anger and he uses his textes in a dark satirical manner.
Zero Percent
The song handels about misusing drugs. The FDA will proof a new procedure for getting drugs easier. George William mean that drugs help against problems but the price is to high for using it.
He stated wthat making money with selling drugs is really easy and criticizes that the government do nothing to stop dealing drugs.
Casual Sex
Casual Sex handels about prostitution, drug misuse the not-working government around president Barack Obama and about political problems.
Moonlight Mass
Moonlight Mass handels about a man with a metal disorder who can see the devils' face. He asked to [ whe he don't let him die. The protagonist stated that he lost to much for living on earth.
What Do We Do Now?
What Do We Do Now? handels about losing virginity and what they have to do when it seems that virginity is lost.
The Funeral
The second bonus track The Funeral handels about a man who was described as hero kill himself. At the begin the listener heard about the suicide and later the listener knows that he planned his funeral so the people are ashamed to speak out his name.
The Funeral and The War are the only tracks where George William using screaming vocals.
Music video
Chiba-Ken produced one music video to their song Hard to be Human. It is a photo-montage and can be watched at their official Youtube profile Chiba-KenTV. The music video for the song What Do We Do Now? was produced for SuicideGirls-DVD.
Cover
The cover shows an angel sitting on his bed. HIs wings are hanging into a wardrobe. He looks sad. In the mirror on the other side of the room the angels is in it looks like he is angry. This cover shows one different meaning in his songs. The cover was design ed by Lena Brunstein.
Style
Singer George William uses most times clean vocals but the song The War he uses screaming vocals. The style can be described as a mix of Post grunge, Post hardcore and Alternative rock. Singer George William used clean vocals most parts on the album. Just at the two bonus tracks (The War, The Funeral) which are only available as download William used scream vocals.

Selling
The album was available as CD only in the US and could be ordered at the bands homepage. Amazon, ITunes and Rhapsody selled MP3-files
of the album. In Germany the download album was removed by Amazon because of bad selling sales. Hard to be Human is downloadable illegal at russian webhoster pages like getalbums.ru.
