Hard Times is a novel by John Chizoba Vincent, published in 2015 by Human Change Communication company in Lagos. The book draws its title from the hardship in the country. It is central theme is family crisis and marriage failure Synopsis Hard Times is a story of a family pulled down by mother who wants her husband to be more than he is meant to be. At the end of the day, she ended up as the scapegoat. The husband has to look for a way to make money. His friend introduces him to a cult where he's requested to bring his wife. He is lost. He ends up killing his wife just to make money. After he kills his wife, the law catches up with him. He's arrested and later, he dies in prison. Their only daughter is left in the world to cater for herself. Theme The major themes of the book are love, betrayal, hatred, greed and death. John Chizoba Vincent in Hard Times was able to balance life's choices and their consequences. He told a story so close to homes, families, the society and marriage. Release Hard Times was published in 2015 under the imprint of H3C, in Lagos.
