Biography of haji Mohammed Motasin Ali Lodi
Haji Mohammed Motasin Ali Lodi was born in January 1874 in a famous Muslim family in Mathiura. That time Mathiura was the second biggest village in the province Asam of British India. At present it is very well known Union in Sylhet District of Bangladesh.
To evaluate a person and his work it is extremely important to have the knowledge of social structure, economy, politics, geography, education, peoples and communication of his time.
Haji Mohammed Motasin Ali Lodi was a very knowledgeable person of his society. He was an education encourager, social worker, leader, Donor and record writer. He did lots of goods activities for development of the society. He developed roads, schools, madresha, Bazar and others for enrichment of society. He was tremendously famous as a Dorbari in greater Beani Bazar, Gulapgong, Jokigong and Karimgonj (Present in India) area. He did tots of significant justice in his time as a Dorbari what ensured the peace of the society. That time the social justification was so strong, truthful and respectful in the society. The people lived in very safe peaceful and scoured society because of that kind of social system. Haji Mohammed Motasin Ali Lodi was the Principal Dorbari of this Dorbar system at his time. The people of the society was loved, respected and obeyed him too much for his honesty, knowledge and work. They gave him the title Miah Saheb Dorbari. He was very well known as Motoi Miah Dorbari Saheb.
Dorbari is not a Bengali word; it is a foreign word in Bengali language like lots of others foreign words which enriched the language. The word Dobari means justice. The system of the Dorbaris was accepted with honour by the British Indian Law system. The Dorbaris were selected by the people of society. Naturally the Dorbaris were most knowledgeable, honest, generous and economically solvent of their society. Dorbaris were the persons who born with natural leadership. They were the leader of their society who preside their society and the peoples of their society were so pleased for their leadership. The society peoples respected and obeyed the Dorbaris from their heart.
Haji Mohammed Motasin Ali Lodi father’s name was Mohammed Munsif Ali Lodi, and famous Muslim land lord Mohammed Ashraf Lodi was his grand father. Taleb Mohammed Lodi who established first Mosjid in the area at 1883 was his grand-grand father. The Taleb Mohammed Lodi Jame Mosjid was the only symbol of Mugal architecture in this area. The Mosjid was re-built at 1983 that time it lost the Mugal architecture.
According the family record the family of Taleb Mohammed Lodi was descending from the Delhi Sultan Ibrahim Lodi’s Family. Haji Mohammed Motasin Ali Lodi was married and he was the father of four sons.
At the time of holly Hajj year 1948, he died in holly Modina Sharif when he was performing the part of the holly hajj. His grave in Jannat-ul-Baki, Modina Sharif.
It is all most 62 years he deceased but till now the senior peoples of his area memorising him with very respect. They get aspire form his life.
