Haji Abdul Rahman al Makki

Hajji Abdul Rahman al Makki () o  (1904-1986) was a prominent personality among the people of , Baltistan. He is acknowledged for his medicines and profession not only in Baqir colony and Yugo but also in other parts of Baltistan. He was a great scholar and spent his life as a in different parts of the world. He spent most of his life in Damascus and . He performed Hajj many times and spent a major part of his life in Makkah, for which he is famous, and as Hajji Makki, many people know him as Hajji Gloom.
Birth
Hajji Abdul Rahman al Makki was born in 1904 in a suburb of Baltistan known as Sirkiting.Hajji Abdul Rahman learnt the Quran by heart and as a child studied traditional Islamic knowledge including Arabic and Persian, before turning his energy to the study of medicine under the guidance of his senior relatives, all of whom were well-known scholars. His boyhood was spent studying at Yugo Baltistan and reading all the books he could find in Baltistan.The most memorable contribution of Hajji Abdul Rahman al Makki's career was made by way of that time medical or Hakimi books.

In 1935 he came back to his hometown and served people of Yugo. People all over Baltistan came to him for their treatment.He spent his whole life as a famous Hakeem(doctor) of baltistan .He visited many places like Turtuk, Tyaqshi, Shigar and Balaghar etc.
Death
He died in 1986 and was buried at Baqirduksa in .A lot number of people from Baltistan attended his funeral prayer and on the request of Maulana Abdul Wahhab,a relative of Haji Abdul Rahman, Students of Jamia Dar-ul-Uloom Baltistan Ghowari also attended the funeral prayer.
