Gvalda

The Gvalda surname originated from Lithuania and is a very rare name to come across.
The name is so rare in fact that Google (English) search's for the name return results such as "Did you mean: gavalda".
A common mistake when spelling the name is to replace the "v" with a "u" example: Gvalda - Gualda.
Some of the first Gvalda descendents now live in Australia and U.K. but most remain in Lithuania.
Kazimeras Gvalda escaped Lithuanian during World War II (WWII) to escape the Nazi Empire. His father was killed by Nazi soldiers at a train station. Kazimeras and his mother traveled hundreds of kilometres by foot and occasionally by cart to reach a boat where they were able to escape to the freedom of Australia, where the Gvalda name has been carried on.
Eugenijus Gvalda is the Director of Trivlita, a company that manufactures mattresses in the second largest city of Lithuania, Kaunas.
Gvalda's have always been very successful in the area of Commerce.
