Gregory L. Dietrich

Gregory (Greg) L. Dietrich is a politician in Saginaw, Michigan. He serves on the Buena Vista Charter Township Board of Trustees.

Early Life
Greg Dietrich was born July 31, 1980 in Saginaw, Michigan. His father was a Buena Vista firefighter for over 20 years and his mother worked for Quality Farm and Fleet for 13 years. He attended Henry Doerr Elementary and Koeltzow Elementary as a child and graduated from in 1999.
Military Service
Dietrich enlisted in the US Air Force in 2000, serving as an F-16 Fighter Crew Chief. While in the Air Force, he served in Malaysia and South Korea, earning the Korea Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal. He was honorably discharged in 2004.
Education
Dietrich graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in December 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He also earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Delta College in 2007. He has interned for US Senator Carl Levin in Saginaw, Michigan and US Congressman Dale Kildee in Washington D.C.
Public Official
Dietrich currently serves as a Trustee for Buena Vista Charter Township. Dietrich earned a spot on the Board of Trustees with a successful primary campaign on August 5, 2008 when he earned 516 votes, finishing second place to incumbent Tommy Orange Jr. In the November 4, 2008 General Election, Dietrich received 3,739 votes or 24.75% of the votes, the highest total number of votes of the five candidates competing for four seats.
Dietrich served as Vice Chair of the Buena Vista Citizens District Council (CDC), which set out to acquire the property known as the Fort Saginaw Mall with the intention of rehabilitating the downtown area. The CDC's purpose was to provide the township with guidance concerning the acquisition of the Fort Saginaw Mall, which housed K- Mart and other small business. The property was acquired in April 2008 and demolition was completed in December 2009.
