Green Gears

Green Gears is a San Francisco based organization dedicated to facilitating the commercialization of plug-in transportation technology. Formed in 2007 by Pat Cadam and Nick Rothman, located in a 6500 square foot state-of-the-art installation facility staffed by master technicians who specialize in PHEV conversions for consumer and fleet vehicles.
Green Gears believes the future can be both profitable and sustainable and as such is dedicated to helping businesses and institutions cut carbon emissions, energy costs, and fuel consumption by converting cars to Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV).
Green Gears is a certified A123/Hymotion PHEV system installer for the Toyota Prius and since 2007 has performed conversions for major corporations and institutions including Google, PG&E, The City and County of San Francisco, Los Angeles County Internal Services, Sonoma County Water Board Agency, UC Davis, Enterprise, Zip Cars and many more.
Green Gears performs data acquisition, vehicle to grid research and development, crash and emission testing expertise, RFP contract writing and receipt processes, testing of PHEV technology for light and medium duty trucks. Green Gears also sponsors eco-driving seminars. The leaders at Green Gears regularly teams with other leaders in the field to stay at the cutting edge of service and technology.
