Greater Manchester bus route 86 is a popular bus service that operates in Greater Manchester between Piccadilly Gardens and Chorlton. Current operation Route 86 serves part of the busy Oxford Road/Wilmslow Road Corridor before turning off at Booth Street West at the Royal College of Music. From there its serves Hulme and continues on to Chorlton via Upper Chorlton Road. It runs at peak times roughly every 5/6 minutes and 10 minutes off peak. Combined with route 85 this provides an off peak frequency between Manchester City Centre and Chorlton of every 5 minutes. It provides a useful link also between Chorlton and the Universities. 86N Service 86N is a weekend night service running every 20 minutes following the same route as service 86 but is extended to Altrincham via Stretford and Sale.
