Grant Random is an American DJ for Octane on Sirius XM Radio. Random can be heard on Octane weekday mornings from 6AM - Noon ET. In addition to Octane, Random has been heard on the former "Boneyard," (now Ozzy's Boneyard), Classic Rewind and Hair Nation. Prior to the Sirius XM Merger, Random was previously on SquiZZ on XM Satellite Radio. As a result of the Sirius XM Merger, SquiZZ was replaced by Octane on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. While on SquiZZ, Random hosted Indecent Exposure, a 30 minute new music show airing on Wednesdays and Sundays. He also served as co-host of the interview special Liner Notes, and The F*ckin' Metal Show. Random had been with XM since 2001 where he has also been heard on Fred, XMU, and the now-defunct Unsigned channel. When XM broadcast Live 8 in 2005, Random co-hosted the Philadelphia concert with XMU's Tobi. He also served as a co-anchor of XM's coverage of Live Earth in 2007 with P.O.T.U.S. 08's Scott Walterman. From 2009-2013, Random was a host on DC 101 in Washington D.C.. Prior to joining XM, Grant worked in Chicago where he was a DJ for Q101 and a producer for WLS.
