Gordon Curphy

Gordon Curphy (born 1956) is an American psychologist known for his research in leadership, group dynamics and team performance management.
Career
Gordon has written 19 books on leadership and teams and is the co-author of Leadership: Enhancing the Lessons of Experience (9th ed.), the US college leadership textbook.
In 2012 he and published The Rocket Model: Practical Advice for Building High Performing Teams, challenging previous teambuilding models such as those of Bruce Tuckman, Richard Hackman or Patrick Lencioni.
Gordon has held numerous leadership positions in the United States Air Force and various consulting firms.
Formal education
Gordon earned his BS in Organizational Behavior from the United States Air Force Academy, his MA from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, and his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
Personal life
Gordon currently resides in St Paul, Minnesota with his wife and two children.
