Gopala Krishna Hall

The Gopala Krishna Hall in Gudivada, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, was the first public building in Andhra Pradesh to have air conditioning. People used to call this as A/C hall. It has a seating capacity of 940.
The managing partner of this theater is TUMMURU VENKATA NARASA REDDY who is a well known person in Gudivada town. There are some other partners for this theater. This theater is well known for MEGASTAR CHIRANJEEVI'S cinemas. This theater ruled the kingdom of cinema in Gudivada during the 1990s. After year 2000 a down trend started for this theater.
Later in 2002 it was given for lease to present MLA-KODALI NANI for a period of 2 years. But the same trend continued due to poor management and lack of good movies at that time. After the tenure is over he handled it back to the owners.
With great pain the owners ran the hall even though they are into losses. In the year 2007 they sold it to Y.V.S.CHOWDARY a well known director of TOLLYWOOD. He has taken the theater and started re-modeling it into two new mini A/C-theaters. He planned to start this on January 11 2008. He was successful in making this.
He started this theater with the name BOMMARILLU(A/C-DTS). It has a seating capacity of 400. The first cinema that was released here is OKKAMAGADU.
Another hall is to be started beside this. He is waiting for the permissions that are to be given by the Government. He invested 1 crore and 20 lakhs absolutely to remodel this theater. He is planning to invest some more on the second theater that is going to be started very shortly.
