GoMyPlace

GoMyPlace is a Web-hosted service based on an open source project with the same name. It provides remote access to Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X desktops from any cell phone or PDA device.
Unlike other solutions, GoMyPlace does not require any installation on the client side, besides a web browser.
Open reverse proxy hides IP address of the HTTP servers and can protect sensitive content. Smart data hash based caching on the proxy server helps to unload the servers connection. HTTP server hidden behind reverse proxy never accepts incoming connections and can be kept behind NAT and firewall.
Source code for the reverse proxy and the host-side software is distributed under GNU General Public License
pcAnywhere uses screen scraping. What they are doing is taking what you see on the monitor of your PC and rerouting it to another location. GoMyPlace is different. The GoMyPlace daemon converts your files and applications to Web services and URLs. GoMyPlace converts your computer into your own private Web site
pcAnywhere and GoToMyPC both require special software to be installed on both the home or office PC and any other computer that will be used to link them. Once the GoMyPlace daemon is loaded onto a PC, however, you need only a user name and a password, and you can use any device with a Web browser to access the service via the GoMyPlace proxy servers.
