Going2college.com, is a review site in which third level students of UCAS and CAO (Ireland and the UK) regions can give opinions on and rate their courses. Participants give numerical ratings on a scale of 1 to 5 on their course and also give opinions detailing the skills required to successfully partake in that course. The comments and ratings are then compiled on each course to provide an insight or type of course guidance on that course for prospective students. The site was launched in April 2009. Other Features Going2college.com also has a forum section that can be used to discuss a range of topics and exchange useful or entertaining information. The forums are broken into three sections: Academic Stuff for exchanging information related to education, Fun Stuff for exchanging humorous and entertaining stories and General which can be used to discuss a wide a wide range of student related issues. The Forum section also allows users to post polls along with the threads they start. Other features of this section include an arcade with over 1,000 games, daily horoscope, a TV guide for Ireland and the UK and a chatbox to enable more communication between users. Moderation and Rules Going2college.com has a set of rules or guidelines that are both helpful and necessary to follow when rating and commenting on the site and posting in the forums. They give information on the type of information students should leave on their course and also the type of information that should not be posted on the site. Comments can be agreed and disagreed with. If an inappropriate comment is not spotted by a going2college moderator it can be flagged by a user. These flagged comments are then reviewed by one of the going2college moderators and either deleted, or if the moderator decides the user has adhered to the site’s criteria when commenting and rating he/she can repost it.
