Go on Home British soldiers is a notable Irish rebel song instructing the British forces that are in Ireland to leave the country. It expresses anger towards the British army and , as well as expressing support for the Irish Republican Army and Irish republicanism in general.
Song
The song was written by Tommy Skelly in reaction to the events of January 30 1972, known as Bloody Sunday. Skelly from Bluebell, Inchicore, Dublin and a member of the band South Dublin Union. The song has been recorded by a number of groups including Derek Warfield and Éire Óg a modern Irish rebel band formed in Glasgow, Scotland.
