Ghigo Press is a publishing company based in Venice, California. Founded in 2006, the company publishes reference cards, calendars and posters. Title subjects relate to gourmet interest and the arts. The company's first title was published in 2007. Vinifera: The World's Great Wine Grapes was a boxed set of reference cards, featuring photographs and text about forty significant wine producing grapes. The set was accompanied by a wall calendar which featured a selection of the same photographs and text in an elongated format. Ghigo Press billed the Vinifera products as a bridge between the novice wine lover and the seasoned connoisseur, offering in-depth information in an easy to follow format. In 2008, Ghigo Press came out with a second edition of Vinifera which featured a re-designed box cover and the addition of five wine grape cards. Two other titles were released by the company in 2008, Spice: The World's Great Flavors and Coffee: The World's Great Recipes, Stories and Histories. Each title is accompanied by related annual wall calendars. Ghigo Press titles are carried by independent sellers and selected Borders. Company President Louise Rosinsky recently announced plans to offer a line of Jazz products in 2011. This company is an invited member of the Green Press Initiative and prints only on 100% recycled paper (as of 2010) and only uses environmentally friendly inks. Prior to 2010 Ghigo Press printed on at least 20% recycled paper and used soy ink.
