Germantown Indoor Swim Center

The Germantown Indoor Swim Center (G.I.S.C) is located in Boyds, Maryland within the South Germantown Recreational Park (18000 Central Park Circle). The facility is one of the four aquatic swim centers operated by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation. The facility operates seven days a week serving around 600-800 individuals a day. A schedule is provided on their website stating the hours of operation and when the pool is available for recreational use and activities. G.I.S.C offers aquatic programs and recreational swim times/activities for residents and guests of all age groups. The facility is about 60,000 gross square feet and includes a competition pool, recreation pool, leisure pool, work-out facility, two water slides as long as , one sauna, and two hydrotherapy pools. Competition pool The competition pool at G.I.S.C is known in the area to attract local and regional swimming meets and teams. This section includes ten swimming lanes next to the diving section, which is used for recreational use and aquatic activities such as diving competitions, scuba diving, water safety instruction, and deep water running. The water slide platform is located above near the diving well and leads them all the way to the splash pool close to the leisure pool. Leisure pool The leisure pool includes features such as kiddie water slides, water umbrellas, small fountains, waterfalls, and tumble buckets. This is pool is especially provided for young children or those uncomfortable with swimming. This pool also used for swimming lessons, therapy, and adult water exercises.
