Geri X

Geri X is a Bulgarian-born singer-songwriter who began gaining popularity when she arrived in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2005. She is known locally for her emotional style of songwriting, and she has classical training on piano and guitar. Relocated to Wisconsin, she continued to create her acoustic music and perform in local venues. Her music is rooted in alternative-folk, with emotional verses which often feature the pain of relationships as well as the beauty. Aside from her music, she is also passionate about animals and has worked in pet stores.
Career
After settling down in Florida in 2005, Geri X made it a hobby to write original music and perform in local venues. However, this hobby became more stable as she played more often in music venues and restaurants. She became a regular in the Tampa Bay music scene, performing her original music in various venues. With her increased audience, Geri X was also nominated for Ultimate Band of Tampa Bay contest run by Tampa Bay Times.
Her first album was Radioactive Drool, released in 2005, followed quickly by A Bit Worried Today (2005). In 2006, Geri X released three different albums; Fever, Treachery, and Can't Make You Happy. Her most recent album, Anthems of a Mended Heart, was released in 2008.
In addition to writing her own music, Geri X's repertoire includes covers of some popular songs, such as Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", which she sang for the first time during one of her live performances to fulfill the request of an audience member.
