Whitaker Malloy

Whitaker Malloy is a country-pop trio consisting of Kady Malloy and sisters Alaina and Brittney Whitaker. The band was formed in May of 2008 after the three girls performed as a part of the "On Our Way" Tour in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Band Members

Whitaker Malloy consists of Kady Malloy and Alaina Whitaker, who were semifinalists on the seventh season of American Idol. The third member of the band is Brittney Whitaker, Alaina's older sister.

Kady Malloy was born in Houston, Texas on May 9, 1989. Growing up in Houston, TX, Malloy expressed her desire to be on stage from an early age. She auditioned for American Idol with the song "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers. She made it through the Hollywood rounds to make the Top 24. She performed "Groovy Kind Of Love" by The Mindbenders , "Magic Man" by Heart, and "Who Wants To Live Forever" by Queen during the semi-final rounds, but did not make it to the final top 12.

Alaina Whitaker auditioned for American Idol in Dallas, Texas with the song "Stronger" by Faith Hill. She made it through the Hollywood rounds to make the Top 24. She performed "More Today Than Yesterday" and "Hopelessly Devoted" by Olivia Newton John, but was eliminated before making the Top 16 of the show.

Despite the fact that the American Idol crown was not in the future for neither Kady nor Alaina, both, along with Brittney, have continued their musical journey by forming the trio, Whitaker Malloy, in May of 2008.

Music & Debut Album

The band's first major debut was on KIX radio in May 2008. They sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt together.

The trio has done various concerts already in Oklahoma. Many have taken place at the Buffalo Run Casino, who have supported the band since the beginning. During their shows, the band has performed various country cover songs as well as a few original songs.

Currently, the girls of Whitaker Malloy are working on their debut album. According to Alaina Whitaker's official Journal, the band is "finding songs, and trying to get a cd out this fall". No word on whether or not the band will be backed by a major record label has been released yet due to an American Idol contract running through August.
