George Dfouni

George G. Dfouni is a Lebanese-American entrepreneur, hospitality expert, musician and entertainer. Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, he is a graduate of the Hotel Career Center in Bournemouth, England and earned a Masters of Business Administration in Hotel Management from Oxford University in England. He was named Chief Operating Officer of Amsterdam Hospitality Group in January of 1999 after serving as Vice President and General Manager for three years at Amsterdam Hospitality Group’s Ameritania Hotel. Here he was responsible for the hotel’s renovation and revitalization projects. He is a graduate of the Hotel Career Center in Bournemouth, England and earned a Masters of Business Administration in Hotel Management from Oxford University in England.
Hotel Management
As Chief Operations Officer, Dfouni oversaw all aspects of the Amsterdam Hospitality Group, which consists of eight existing boutique hotels (The Marcel at Gramercy, The Empire Hotel, The Ameritania, Amsterdam Court, Astor on the Park, The Bentley Hotel, The Moderne, and The Blake), two boutique hotels under renovation in Los Angeles (The Clark and The Giannini), two residential properties in New York City,one residential property in Miami and one commercial property in Tampa,
Florida. Several newspapers commented on these changes that "repositioned...the three-star hotels as four-star hotels," specifically the Bentley and Marcel Hotels in midtown Manhattan. Currently, there are many more amenities, such as "improved service, added staff, and...other significant upgrades." Amsterdam Hospitality Group was in the news in 2009 for its publicized offer of free accommodation to all passengers on US Airways Flight 1549.
Prior to joining the Amsterdam Hospitality Group, Dfouni served as the General Manager of The Mansfield Hotel in New York City where he led the $4 million restoration of the 121 room hotel to a deluxe boutique hotel which garnered extensive press and acquired numerous accolades for the property's increased occupancy. The New York Times commented on the renovation, stating that the "gleaming copper mullions on the double row of bay windows, freshly stripped of daces of grime" allows the current version of the Mansfield Hotel to "fit easily into a block that includes several other notable rooming establishments."
Television
In addition to his hospitality business, Dfouni has worked within the Television field. He produced and hosted his own talk show, Uncensored with George Dfouni , which was aired on Dandana TV.
Music
In 2004, George Dfouni recorded and released a music album, titled Just Like That followed by the number one hit single
Icharat . The music video for Icharat was filmed in New York City in May 2010 and was released late June 2010. Dfouni is currently working on a new single.
Future Projects
The day spa, Passione Di Arte, is set to open in Tenafly, New Jersey as a site that caters equally to both men and
