George Atkinson Jr, (born on September 27, 1984 in Upland, California) is an American late model racecar driver. He competes on the local level in the NASCAR sanctioned Whelen All-American Series at Toyota Speedway at Iwindale (Formerly known as Irwindale Speedway). He currently drives a #65 Late Model Chevrolet Impala. He has been competing in this series since 2007. In his second season ever, 2008, he is running in the top 15 in a very competitive class. Racing against veteran drivers such as Nick Joanides, Andrew Meyers, and Sean Woodside who have raced on the touring level. George was a student ambassador in 2001 and traveled to Australia's east coast with People to People for over 3 weeks as a representative for the United States of America. Tracks He currently races at "Toyota Speedway at Irwindale" in California and at the Bullring in Las Vegas, Nevada. |
