Gentoo Penguin habitat and skin covering

Gentoo penguin, (also known as the Pygoscelis papua ellsworthii)is well known for its strange habitat choice. They are known to live on rocky and windy islands in the Antarctic region. Their skin is covered by a thin layer of scale like, shiny feathers that protect them from the harsh conditions of Antarctica. Their diet consists of krill and many other small fishes that can survive the cold water.Gentoo parents make their nest from loose rocks and pebbles, but find it extremmely hard because penguins are constantly their stones! Gentoo mothers produce 2 eggs and only care for the first egg hatched which tends to be the largest. Parents are constantly travelling kilometres for their young only to feed them a small amount of krill. They are on the verdge of becoming indangered. Overall Gentoo penguins are amazing creatures and we hope to have them around for along time.
