Gentleman's Gazette

The Gentleman’s Gazette is a men’s fashion blogpost by style enthusiast Sven Raphael Schneider. The Gazette’s main focuses are on timeless, and quality menswear. The Gazette has since expanded into a YouTube Channel and sister website “Fort Belvedere”, a men’s accessories online shop selling ties, socks, cuff links, and handkerchiefs. They post articles and videos about menswear, guides, reviews, history, and more. Since 2010 they’ve had 312,377 subscribers on their gazette and 1 million subscribers on their YouTube channel.
History
Origins
Born and raised in Germany, Schneider found a interest in style after collecting fountain pens at 14 years old. After recognizing the value and quality of well-made pens, he developed knowledge which evolved into a interest with Vintage Menswear. He immigrated to Saint Paul, Minnesota in the United States to finish up his law school until 2009, where he met his wife Teresa.
The Gentleman’s Gazette was then founded in 2010 by German immigrant Sven Raphael Schneider “to make the Gentleman’s Gazette the essential resource for savoir vivre and heritage craftsmanship”. The first post of the Gazette was “Weaving Life - The Story of Ecuador’s “Panama Hat”” which was a documentary about the making of a Panama Hat. The documentary was divided (Due to YouTube’s 15 minute Restriction). Although the documentaries were not made by Schneider, it would eventually lead to the gazette being a icon in the sartorial world.
Gentleman’s Gazette Now
Since 2010 the Gazette has had 312,377 subscribers, and 1 million on YouTube. It has expanded to more writers than ever before, and has expanded to 3 hosts on their channel. The Gazette consists of posting articles and videos on style tips, guides, reviews, clothing company reviews, and many more.
Fort Belvedere
In 2013-2014 the site expanded into a online shop, labeled “Fort Belvedere”, based on the Fort Belvedere in Surrey, England. The inspiration to make a online shop happened from Schneider writing about objects he got from flea markets and thrift stores. When writing about these acquisitions, fans and readers started asking him where he got it from. “so we said, well, what if we actually made these things inspired by the 30s, with the vintage flair but now, modern in sizes that people can wear today”, thus sparking the idea for Fort Belvedere.
YouTube Channel
Their YouTube channel was made around the time they began a online store. Although videos can be sourced from 2010-2011, their main videos were made in 2013. The channel consists of the same focuses that their blog does. Their YouTube videos have inter joined there blog posts, with articles having similar videos. The videos were originally hosted by only Schneider himself, but has expanded to Preston Schlueter, and Kyle Thibodeaux; making a YouTube Trio. The channel has over 1 million subscribers.

The Gentleman’s Gazette has been featured in many major publications. According to the Gazette, they’ve been in BBC, Vox, The New York Times, GQ, PBS, The Telegraph, Financial Times, Bloomberg, eBay, Daily Mail, Inc, and The Boston Globe.
