Vanossgaming

Evan Fong (known by his YouTube channel VanossGaming) is a popular youtuber. He posts gaming montages (recorded and edited game-play), and is since a while always seen playing with his friends, mostly with H2O Delirious, Daithi de Nogla and Lui Calibre, who are all youtubers as well.
Some compare him with the most subscribed youtuber of all time, PewDiePie, however, they post videos of completely different games.
As of August 4th, 2014, 8,145,000 people have subscribed to his channel and his videos have been viewed a total of 1,085,000,000 times. At one point he was eventually gaining more subscribers per day than PewDiePie. This makes him the most popular Canadian youtuber, and it is predicted that he might become the most popular youtuber world-wide one day .
His channel is quite new compared to other popular gaming channels of the same amount of popularity/subscribers.
Beginnings
Evan joined YouTube on September 15th, 2011. His first video he uploaded to his channel and which is still available is called; Black Ops Funny Live Zombies Session with Randoms, and it was uploaded on October 27th, 2011.
He started his channel by posting Call of Duty montages. He first started with Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, playing alone or with almost only youtubers he is still friends with, but who might have changed their YouTube names.
He then also uploaded remixes and songs based on other youtubers' commentary in videos.
He didn't post many videos when he started; his fifth video was posted more than six months after he joined YouTube.
After more than nine months he gained 10,000 subscribers (he then uploaded a thank-you video), and after more than a year that his channel was created he gained 50,000 subscribers, so on September 30th, 2012 he made a video as well to thank them, also including a Q&A.
1,000,000 Subscribers
Soon after his 50,000 subscribers video he quit playing Call of Duty: Black Ops just because Call of Duty: Black Ops II was released, which he then started playing. He also rarely posted any more Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 videos since his viewers didn't like these anymore, and he himself didn't enjoy playing them anymore either.
He later on also started to play popular games or games his fans asked him to play, for example Call of Duty: Ghosts and the Xbox-version of the game Minecraft, those games attracted more and more people to his channel and he soon reached 1,000,000 subscribers on July 18th, 2013 within less than a year after reaching 50,000.
For the first time he revealed himself in front of a camera and thanked his subscribers, but told them he find that numbers don't matter, he says he is as thankful for his first subscriber is as he is for his one-thousandth, as he is for his one-millionth.
VanossGaming Today
After he reached 1,000,000 subscribers he continued to play the games mentioned, Garry's Mod (still playing to this day), Left 4 Dead 2 and Saints Row 4 (both only played once).
However, when Grand Theft Auto V was released, Vanoss purchased it and began posting Grand Theft Auto V-montages and ended his Call of Duty: Black Ops II videos with one last montage. This however, was not received well by his fans who loved Call Of Duty. His subscriber number then went down.
To regain them, he posted many Call of Duty: Ghosts videos one after another, and he did regain many of them, and when he then told his fans he wanted to quit these series as well, just because he doesn't like playing Call of Duty anymore after more than 2 years of doing so, and not because a new game was released; they appreciated it finally and he didn't lose more subscribers than he did before, but actually gained more and more.
Shortly after reaching three million subscribers, he gained even more fame; he also played Dead Rising 3 with his friend H2ODelirious (he posted eight videos of them playing it), beside from Grand Theft Auto V, and after these short series he continued his Garry's Mod series, reached five million subscribers, played other popular games with his fellow youtubers like Skate 3 (4 videos) and Titanfall (1 video), and today he has reached a milestone of over eight million subscribers, which places his channel in the top 20 subscribed channels that are not made by YouTube, and this is making him the third the most subscribed gaming-channel, after PewDiePie (29 million+ subscribers) and SkyDoesMinecraft (10 million+ subscribers).
