GatherSpace is a California-based company that provides on-demand tools to manage customer requirements. The company, founded by Darren Levy, is most well known for its web-based Agile Requirements Management applications for software development projects. Headquartered in Santa Monica, California, GatherSpace is wholly owned by Levy Consulting Incorporated. History Darren Levy founded GatherSpace.com in 2005. The company began beta-testing its on demand requirements tool shortly thereafter. Once the product passed testing, GatherSpace introduced the Requirements Manager Software tool. The initial product was geared toward small to midsized companies who normally could not afford large enterprise systems. The software increased the speed and accuracy of project delivery systems by providing an adaptive way to capture and manage customer requirements. Two years later, it launched version 2.0 of the Requirements Management Software tool, adding additional agile capabilities, a visualization tool and more Ajax functionality. It partnered with getNetworks, a hosting provider based in Roswell, Georgia to offer its cloud-based solution. Levy explained to Soft Searchware Equality’s Colleen Fyre: “Utilizing the cloud eliminates the need to administer and maintain the software itself or the hardware infrastructure.” GatherSpace announced another update to its cloud platform in September 2011. Its new features include the ability to point users to high-priority items, a tab for collaboration and workflow, and enhanced importing and exporting capabilities for data.
